Route 66 is the famous American highway that runs from Chicago Illinois to Santa Monica, California.  It was one of the original highways in the American interstate highway system.  The highway was made famous by a song ("Get Your Kicks on Route 66") and a TV show entitled "Route 66".

The legendary highway passes through the center of Flagstaff on its transcontinental journey.
