Arizona Tourist Information and Travel Guide
Grand Canyon National Park is 1.2 million acre park located in northwestern Arizona. The massive gorge that runs through the park is one of the seven wonders of the world.
Every year, millions of tourists visit the park from around the world to view the canyon and the Colorado River that twists and turns through the canyon. Most visitors see it from a 35 mile road that runs along the south rim.
Some tourists, however, take helicopter or small plane tours of the canyon. These excursions leave from Las Vegas, Phoenix and the Grand Canyon National Park Airport.
Other visitors prefer to experience the canyon from its bottom. They take exciting white water rafting trips down the Colorado River.
